Homelessness is on the rise, especially among women with children and soldiers after duty. Homelessness can be caused by 1 missed paycheck, a house fire, natural disasters, a layoff, inability to find employment due to being competitively disadvantaged, learning disabilities, physical disability, trauma and mental illness, a criminal record - 1 mistake!
We don't even pay attention anymore because we are so desensitized, disconnected, disillusioned, numb. If we are able, we should try to help others because it's right, it is absolutely good for our own souls, and we may be faced with these same hardships some day in this test of life. The homeless and those struggling not to be homeless are living, breathing, worthy of God's breath, and striving to survive.
